Safari Kubwa: J'adore Paris: Day Three (Morning/Afternoon)

On the list for sunday morning: Hillsong Paris, Eiffel Tower (day time), Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower (in the Evening).

Dave and I had a great morning sunday. We decided to try and find Hillsong Paris a church that we have heard so much about. Well after a few google searches and figuring out the metro system we found the church and were so excited!

We were a little concerned with the whole language barrier issues (ahah) but everything was bi-lingual and the church had a guest speaker, Lisa Bevere, who actually spoke in English and someone translated into french (so it was perfect timing). We were so excited for the music. Dave is truly gifted at music, something that I think comes naturally to him (hahah this is not the case for me) and that has certainly been one thing he has been missing: having his guitar here. So I was excited for him to be able to enjoy this morning! And it was amazing.

We got to hear the new Hillsong Cd 'God is able' this morning (through the band) but heard it both in french and english...it was awesome. Here is a song we heard that morning that we both loved: God is able!

We had hot chocolate almost every morning! Amazing.

After church we made our way to the Eiffel Tower. What we hadn't really realized until this point is that we had been in Paris for almost two full days and besides seeing the Eiffel Tower in the distance on the metro, from the plane or on the bus we hadn't seen it at all. I feel as though this is wrong!!!! In Paris, two days, and no view of the Eiffel Tower...just shameful!!

This afternoon though we had our view and it was beautiful! This is our afternoon exploring the Eiffel Tower and taking a zillion photos!

Our great idea: let's walk down the Eiffel Tower!!!

Almost to the bottom....yes we hurt for days after this decision! But we can now say we walked the Eiffel Tower.

After exploring the Eiffel Tower, we headed to see the Arc de Triomphe that was built around 1806, to honour the french who lost their lives during the french revolution and is the resting place of the 'unknown soldier' from World War I. Needless to say, Paris is full of history and it was magical taking it all in (which there is still so much we did not get a chance to see while there).

Right behind me is a crazy round-about...we waited and watched thinking "How do we cross". We found out, there's a tunnel that goes underneath of the round-about and comes out at the Arc!

The unknown Soldier

I LOVE this photo. While at the Arc, some french soldiers appeared. This little girl was visiting with her family. She told us that her daddy was a "Military Boss". She went over to salute these soldiers and Dave captured it.

While at the Arc, we were touring when we were asked to step behind the barriers (fences). After waiting around, there was a ceremony celebrating and honouring those that have been lost to war (we think...we still aren't entirely sure what was happening).
