While in Paris Dave and I went to Hillsong Paris, a church that we were very excited to be able to experience a Sunday in the ‘Hillsong’ atmosphere…it’s as if the church has it’s own vibe or DNA to it…you can sort of point it out “Yup got to be a Hillsong church”.
One of the songs that we heard while at Hillsong Paris that Sunday morning really spoke to me. It’s from Hillsong United’s (Austrailia) new CD and the song was simply called: Our God is Able (also the name of the Album).
Here is the link to the song: God is able.
Our journey thus far has been challenging, uncertain, and sometimes simply scary. But through everything, we have been faithful that God will take care of us (even in times when we aren’t sure how He will be able to do it).
We were both reminded on Sunday that whether we have the answer or not, whether we know when, or how all of the details will be taken care of, we have a loving God who is beyond able!!!
This week I was reminded of this!
Our God is able to:
Do the unthinkable
Love Unconditionally
Show compassion
Understand
Do the impossible
Use the impossible
Show others they are loved
Show us our worth
Change Hearts
Mend Hearts
I had a chance to speak with our 40 students in Tanzania this week (twice actually!!!) and my heart was filled.
They remind me every day that miracles happen, that there are great people in this world, that life is worth fighting for and that if we push hard enough, trust long enough and believe that God truly is able, this world can be a better place.
I have been dreaming these outlandish thoughts and notions, these scenarios that seem so impossible, so unachievable .
Today I was reminded that no dream is too big for God.
As I heard “Nakukosa Sana Nicci” (I miss you Nicci) and “Nakupenda Sana Pia” (I love you too) from these 40 vulnerable students, who have been so badly damaged and hurt, God has proven to me that if we keep pushing on, keep trusting long enough, and keep believing hard enough He can take the broken, use the ordinary and make extraordinary things come alive: Our God is able to do the impossible.
To Our Kids in Tanzaina:
You are loved more than you could ever possibly know. You are thought about and talked about religiously and you have captured more of my heart than I ever thought existed. However big or impossible my dreams for you may be, and however big or impossible your own dreams may seem, I was reminded today that OUR GOD IS ABLE!
